In the Book of Deuteronomy, God instructs Moses to have his people affix His word to their doorposts as both a declaration of their devotion to God and a reminder to keep God in their coming and going. This became known as the mezuzah - a Hebrew word for "doorposts." Within the mezuzah is a parchment with the scripture from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and 11:13-21. These words are known as the Shema.
Years later, when Jesus was teaching in the temple, he was asked, "What is the greatest commandment?" He answered by quoting the Shema, the words from the mezuzah, then He added, "The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
This is the premise of the Christian Mezuzah, to love God and love your
neighbors in need, homeless men, women and children.
Project Doorposts is a foundation that helps faith-based homeless ministries near you and around the world. Your Christian Mezuzah purchase helps to fund the foundation, which then provides emergency funding to homeless shelters, food pantries and programs.
Doorposts LLC is committed to contributing at least 50% of the profit into the foundation. These funds are managed under the guidelines of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.
